2.5 Cameras

2.4 Local and Global Transforms -> Cameras -> 2.6 Terrain

One of the aspects to Machines is that you could have four separate camera modes: overhead "zenith", 3rd person chase camera, ground camera and of course 1st person control mode.

Each type of camera had different controls but shared a number of key aspects. In Machines this was implemented as base class and a number of concrete most derived types.

I'm going to do the same here even though I'm only going to implement a simple orbit camera (for now!)

The orbit camera will respond to right mouse button (press and hold) drag left and right and up and down.

The left and right will rotate the camera around the location it is pointing at in the XZ plane and the up and down in the YZ plane. Simple!

I've also rotated the knight upright (using Softimage/XMOD).

Lets move swiftly onto loading a terrain and picking models.
